The multi‑faceted project is expected to generate about 2,600 jobs and bolster the company’s U.S. supply chain.

Novartis Builds Manufacturing Hub in North Carolina
Novartis revealed plans for a comprehensive end‑to‑end manufacturing hub in the Research Triangle of North Carolina. The expansion will include 700,000 square feet of new and upgraded facilities in Durham and Morrisville and is projected to create 700 jobs.

Portuguese pharmaceutical firm Hovione has completed a $100 million expansion of its East Windsor, New Jersey campus, adding 200,000 square feet and two large spray dryers, effectively doubling its U.S. spray drying output.
CEO Jean Luc Herbeaux said the investment strengthens Hovione’s leadership in spray drying and supports customers developing complex medicines: “This investment reinforces Hovione’s leadership in spray drying – a core technology platform where we have built extensive know‑how and capabilities. By continuing to advance our platforms and expand capacity in the U.S., we are strengthening the foundation that enables our partners to bring complex medicines to patients more efficiently.”

Poultry processor Pilgrim’s, a subsidiary of JBS Foods, officially broke ground on a new $400 million prepared foods facility in Walker County, Georgia. The plant will produce Just Bare® and Pilgrim’s® brand products and is expected to create more than 630 jobs.
“Expanding the Pilgrim’s footprint in Georgia highlights our ongoing commitment to the region and our company’s long‑term growth strategy,” said Fabio Sandri, Pilgrim’s CEO.
The company also pledged $1 million in support for local charities.

First Solar Opens AI‑Enabled Factory in Louisiana

Power management company Eaton is investing $6.8 million to add 40,000 square feet to its Middlesex, North Carolina facility, supporting expansion of its fluid and electrical distribution capabilities and creating 30 new jobs.
Traci Melville, president of Eaton’s Fluid and Electrical Distribution Division, noted “This expansion underscores our ongoing commitment to investing in the Middlesex facility and enhancing our ability to serve customers with greater efficiency and responsiveness.”

Hyosung HICO Expands U.S. Transformer Headquarters in Tennessee
South Korean transformer manufacturer Hyosung HICO will invest $157 million to expand its U.S. manufacturing headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, increasing capacity by 50 percent and creating 240 new jobs.
President Jason E. Neal described the expansion as a shared achievement: “This additional expansion reflects our shared success with the State of Tennessee and the partnership between our U.S. operations and our headquarters in South Korea.”
Cancoil USA to Build Heat Transfer Plant in Texas
Cancoil USA, a Canadian‑owned firm, will invest more than $28 million in a new heat transfer manufacturing operations center in Jacksonville, Texas. The project is expected to create 120 jobs and establish a long‑term U.S. production base.

FormFactor Selects Texas for New Advanced Manufacturing Facility
FormFactor, a leading provider of semiconductor test equipment, plans to invest more than $140 million to build an advanced manufacturing facility in Farmers Branch, Texas, expanding capacity for critical probe card technologies used in logic and memory chip production.
CEO Mike Slessor said, “As the world’s leading supplier of advanced probe cards, which are used by global manufacturers of the logic and memory chips at the heart of AI revolution and data centers, we play a critical role in the global semiconductor industry.”

Defense contractor Kratos Defense & Security Solutions opened a 22,500‑square‑foot propulsion manufacturing facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan, capable of producing up to 50,000 Spartan turbojet engines per year.
Steve Fendley, president of Kratos’ Unmanned Systems Division, emphasized the importance of manufacturing focus: “Our production‑first mindset has been key to our success in realizing high‑reliability, military‑grade engines with key operational features that can be produced affordably and delivered at high rates. This is a result of our focus on producibility and cost right from the start, rather than the traditional performance first, manufacturability and cost second approach.”

Boeing Expands 787 Production Site in South Carolina
Aerospace manufacturer Boeing is investing more than $1 billion to expand its 787 Dreamliner production site in North Charleston, South Carolina. The expansion will add new final assembly lines and approximately 1,000 jobs.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Stephanie Pope said the project responds to strong global demand: “We continue to see strong demand for the 787 Dreamliner family and its market‑leading efficiency and versatility. MAHLE Expands Niagara County Plant in New York
German automotive supplier MAHLE will invest $6.8 million to expand its Lockport, New York, facility, relocating a key research and testing center from Michigan. The project will add 11 jobs and retain 226 existing positions while enhancing thermal management R&D capabilities.

VectorTex Establishes First U.S. Plant in North Carolina
Australian technical textiles manufacturer VectorTex will invest more than $6 million to build its first U.S. production and innovation hub in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. The 25,000‑square‑foot facility will create 44 jobs.
