Genentech Breaks Ground on North Carolina Manufacturing Site
Genentech, a Roche Group company, has officially broken ground on a new 700,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Holly Springs, North Carolina. With a projected $700 million investment, the site will focus on next-generation metabolic medicines and create over 400 manufacturing jobs and 1,500 construction roles.
“We are proud to break ground on our new manufacturing site in Holly Springs, North Carolina, with its world-class biotech talent, top research institutions and a robust infrastructure that will enable our growth for years to come,” said CEO Ashley Magargee. “With this step, we are taking action to deliver more life-changing medicines to patients faster, contribute to the local economy, and bolster manufacturing and innovation in the U.S.”
Johnson & Johnson Invests $2 Billion in Fujifilm Biologics Facility
Johnson & Johnson will invest $2 billion to enable manufacturing capabilities at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies’ Holly Springs campus. The new 160,000-square-foot plant will support the production of advanced medicines and will create approximately 120 new jobs.
“Johnson & Johnson has more manufacturing facilities in the U.S. than in any other country, and we continue to strengthen our presence here,” said CEO Joaquin Duato. “With the recent signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we continue to expand our investment in the U.S. to lead the next era of healthcare innovation.”
AbbVie Builds API Facility in Illinois
AbbVie is investing $195 million to construct a new active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) plant at its North Chicago campus. The project, set to break ground in late 2025, will expand U.S. API production for neuroscience, immunology, and oncology treatments.
“Over the next decade, AbbVie will expand production of API, drug product, peptides and medical devices in the U.S. to support future medical breakthroughs,” said CEO Robert A. Michael. “This is an important step to maintain U.S. leadership in pharmaceutical innovation and deliver next-generation medicines that make a remarkable impact on patients’ lives.”
Nusano Opens Radioisotope Plant in Utah
Nusano has opened a new 190,000-square-foot radioisotope manufacturing facility in West Valley City, Utah. The plant uses proprietary particle accelerator technology to produce over 40 radioisotopes for cancer treatment, diagnostics, and industrial applications.
“From our world-class production facility in Utah, we will make radioisotopes in quantities and varieties unsurpassed by older methods. This will help address supply chain bottlenecks, support domestic manufacturing, and deliver life-changing radioisotope supplies needed for cancer care,” said CEO Chris Lowe.
Philips Expands U.S. Medical Device Production
Philips is making more than $150 million in investments to expand its U.S. medical device operations. Upgrades include a 24,000-square-foot manufacturing addition and a 40,000-square-foot warehouse in Reedsville, Pennsylvania, as well as expanded R&D space in Plymouth, Minnesota. Combined, the expansions will create 270 jobs.
“Increasing our manufacturing and R&D capabilities will create jobs and accelerate our ability to deliver better care for more people with innovative AI-enabled solutions,” said Jeff DiLullo, Chief Region Leader for North America. “Each year, Philips spends $900 million in R&D in the U.S. to drive innovation.”

Hitachi Energy Expands Transformer Components Plant in Tennessee
Hitachi Energy will spend $106 million to expand its transformer component factory in Alamo, Tennessee. The project adds more than 60,000 square feet and will bring 100 new jobs.
“This facility plays a critical role in meeting fast-growing energy demand from AI as well as grid expansion and modernization, and we’re proud to grow our footprint and strengthen domestic manufacturing right here in Tennessee,” said Steve McKinney, Head of Transformers, North America.
Brazos Midstream Builds Natural Gas Processing Plant in Texas
Brazos Midstream is developing the $185 million Sundance II gas processing facility in Martin County, Texas. Once operational, the plant will process up to 300 million cubic feet of natural gas per day.
“This investment provides mission-critical gas infrastructure and reliable takeaway capacity to energy producers throughout the Permian Basin,” said CEO Brad Iles.
Timmerman Power Plant Comes Online in Central Texas
The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) has activated the first phase of the Timmerman Power Plant in Maxwell, Texas. The 380 MW facility is designed to provide dispatchable energy to the growing Texas grid and support over 300 jobs.
“LCRA is proud to bring the first unit of the Timmerman plant online to provide additional reliable power to our growing state,” said LCRA General Manager Phil Wilson.

stow Group Selects Georgia for New U.S. Production Facility
Belgium-based stow Group will build a $36 million, 240,000-square-foot manufacturing site in Gordon County, Georgia. The facility will create 200 jobs and serve as the company’s U.S. production hub for industrial storage and racking systems.
“This new production facility will strengthen our presence in the U.S. and allow us to serve customers faster,” said CEO Jos De Vuyst.
Klauer Manufacturing Opens Roof Flashing Plant in Texas
Klauer Manufacturing has launched a 40,200-square-foot production facility in Tomball, Texas, to manufacture residential roof flashing. The site includes 2,000 square feet of office space and will begin production in early 2026.
“Opening Klauer Texas allows us to bring our products closer to our customers and reinforce our commitment to service and innovation.”
Merrill Steel Selects Arkansas for Fourth Plant
Merrill Steel is investing more than $32 million in a new steel fabrication facility in Osceola, Arkansas. The site will create 108 jobs and support structural steel production for industrial clients.
“We are overwhelmed by the support we are receiving from the state of Arkansas, the Osceola community and the local individuals associated with the steel industry,” said President Fred Schwalbach.
Cronus Chemicals Plans $2 Billion Fertilizer Plant in Illinois
Cronus Chemicals will construct a $2 billion ammonia production facility in Tuscola, Illinois, supported by the state’s EDGE incentive program. The plant will create 130 jobs and produce 950,000 short tons of nitrogen fertilizer annually.
“Our state-of-the-art facility in Tuscola represents a significant leap forward for the agriculture sector in Illinois and beyond. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Governor Pritzker and Team Illinois for their invaluable and continued support of our project,” said Chairman Melih Keyman.

GE Appliances Unveils $3 Billion Investment Plan
GE Appliances announced a $3 billion, multi-state investment across five Southern states to boost U.S. manufacturing. The initiative will create 1,000 jobs, including a new facility in Camden, South Carolina, and expansions in Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and Georgia.

JBS USA Building Bacon and Sausage Plant in Iowa
JBS USA is investing $100 million in a new ready-to-eat bacon and sausage plant in Ankeny, Iowa. The 186,000-square-foot facility will support 400 new jobs and expand JBS’s value-added product capabilities.
“We are proud to grow our operations in Iowa, where we already operate four production facilities,” said CEO Wesley Batista Filho.

L3Harris Expands Satellite Integration Facility in Florida
L3Harris Technologies has completed a $100 million expansion of its Palm Bay, Florida satellite plant, adding 94,000 square feet of cleanroom and integration space to support the U.S. Space Force’s “Golden Dome” initiative.
“Accelerating the production of proven hardware for national missile warning and defense remains a priority as we align resources across the enterprise to support the President’s vision for America’s Golden Dome,” said CEO Christopher E. Kubasik.
